Accounting Manager


Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a collaborative and growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys owning general ledger accounting processes, leading month-end activities, improving efficiencies, and mentoring team members in a dynamic environment.


The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys balancing day-to-day accounting operations with process improvement initiatives. This role offers broad exposure across general accounting, payroll, compliance, and systems while working closely with cross-functional teams.


What You'll Do

  • Lead and coordinate the monthly accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financials
  • Manage general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, prepaids, reconciliations, and account analysis
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
  • Administer payroll processing and reconcile accounts
  • Coordinate sales and use tax filings and annual 1099 reporting
  • Support SOX compliance activities, maintain internal controls, and identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes
  • Partner with internal teams and external auditors to provide requested documentation and support
  • Supervise and mentor staff by reviewing work, providing guidance, and supporting professional development
  • Serve as a SME of the ERP system, helping optimize workflows
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience leading or mentoring accounting staff
  • Experience with ERP systems, and working through optimization
  • Experience processing payroll
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Credible experience managing general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and internal controls
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a desire to streamline processes and enhance efficiencies
