Purpose
The Manager, Global 2nd Line Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) contributes to the overall success of the Global TPRM Program by conducting second line effective challenge and program execution activities across assigned portfolios. The role is primarily responsible for executing TPRM program requirements, performing transactional reviews, and supporting Business Line Portfolio Leads in delivering consistent oversight, challenge, and risk insights across third-party arrangements. The incumbent ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures, while contributing to the continuous enhancement of the TPRM program and operating model.
What You'll Do
• Champions general program engagement and awareness by bringing policies and standards to life across assigned portfolios and acting as a trusted partner for TPRM advice and counsel.
• Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen stakeholder relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
• Conducts effective challenge and oversight activities across the Global TPRM program, including review of criticality and inherent risk questionnaires for reasonableness based on the products and services provided to the Bank, due diligence and exit strategy considerations, residual risk reviews and reasonableness of proposed mitigations, and risk assessments of new initiatives involving third parties.
• Records, tracks, and escalates issues and emerging risks as appropriate, including support for registration and remediation through applicable issue management processes.
• Performs remediation and operational projects to continuously improve the accuracy, completeness, and effectiveness of the TPRM book of record and related program processes.
• Supports the development and maintenance of operational procedures that enable implementation of Global TPRM policy and standards.
• Facilitates regular meetings with key stakeholder groups to support efficient program operation and development, as appropriate.
• Establishes and nurtures relationships with partners and supports portfolio-level oversight, reporting, and understanding of portfolio health, issues, and emerging risks.
• Maintains a continuous improvement mindset; seeks to learn and understand; identifies challenges and pain points; and raises them for resolution with urgency and follow-through.
• Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
• Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
• Supports enterprise-wide TPRM program execution for the assigned business lines, geographies, and third-party portfolios.
• Role is focused on execution and transactional oversight, with alignment to Business Line portfolios and Cluster Leads.
• Role requires close coordination and regular interaction with in-country partners and stakeholders across jurisdictions.
• Role requires strong working knowledge of TPRM and reporting tools, including Coupa Risk Assess, Icertis Contract Management, OpenPages, and Microsoft 365.
What You'll Bring
• Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience at a manager level, or equivalent depth and complexity of role, in a large financial institution.
• 3+ years of direct experience in vendor management or third-party risk management is preferred; broader general risk management experience may be considered.
• Advanced understanding of the regulatory landscape with respect to third party risk.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate and manage difficult conversations.
• Experience supporting dynamic and multifaceted projects.
• Experience reviewing or working with third-party contracts is an asset.
• Attention to detail and critical thinking. Strong analytical skills, sound judgment and the ability to translate insights into clear recommendations.
• Tech-savvy with interest in data and Generative AI to improve efficiency. (Coupa)
