Job description

Position Type
Part-time Internship / Contract Internship
Estimated hours: 10-15 hours per week
Company Overview
TruBlue of Flower Mound provides senior-focused home safety and home maintenance services in the North Dallas area. We are developing a Senior Fall Risk Reduction Initiative to identify home-based fall hazards, support practical safety improvements, and build a structured data-driven model for aging-in-place support.
Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Research & Operations Intern to support our senior fall-risk assessment program. This role is suitable for someone interested in public health, healthcare, gerontology, aging services, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, healthcare business, or community health.
This position will support research, data organization, outreach preparation, FRI assessment documentation, medical advisor research, university/agency contact research, and White Paper development.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Data Support
  • Organize FRI assessment records, photos, risk factors, and follow-up notes.
  • Maintain a structured database of assessment results.
  • Help classify common home safety risks, such as bathroom safety, stairs, lighting, flooring, entryways, grab bars, mobility barriers, and trip hazards.
  • Support before/after documentation and anonymized case summaries.
Advisor / University / Agency Research
  • Research potential medical advisors, PT/OT professionals, public health experts, university faculty, senior agencies, nonprofits, and aging-related organizations.
  • Create contact lists and summarize each candidate's background and relevance.
  • Assist with outreach emails and meeting preparation.
  • Prepare follow-up notes after meetings.
White Paper Support
  • Help organize data and findings for a Senior Fall Risk Reduction White Paper.
  • Summarize public information related to senior falls, aging-in-place, home modification, and preventive interventions.
  • Assist in drafting charts, tables, case summaries, and program descriptions.
  • Support advisor review preparation.
Operations Support
  • Assist with scheduling FRI assessments and follow-ups.
  • Prepare simple customer-facing assessment summaries using company templates.
  • Help ensure records are complete, organized, and usable for future reporting.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good written English communication skills.
  • Comfortable using Google Sheets / Excel, Google Docs / Word, and online research tools.
  • Able to organize information clearly and consistently.
  • Interest in senior care, public health, healthcare, aging-in-place, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or community health.
  • Reliable and able to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current student or graduate in public health, healthcare administration, social work, gerontology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, business, or related field.
  • Experience with research, data entry, interviews, community outreach, or nonprofit work.
  • Ability to create simple reports, charts, and summaries.
  • Familiarity with aging services or senior care is a plus.
Performance Expectations - First 90 Days
  • Build a list of 20+ potential medical/public health/PT/OT advisors.
  • Build a list of 30+ senior agencies, nonprofits, university contacts, or community organizations.
  • Support documentation of 20-30 FRI assessments.
  • Prepare 3-5 anonymized case summaries.
  • Help complete the outline of the White Paper.
  • Maintain clean and organized records with minimal errors.
Compensation
Hourly / stipend-based depending on experience and availability.
Potential for extended internship or part-time role based on performance.
