Job Description

The Project Manager oversees all aspects of assigned construction projects from preconstruction through completion, with a strong focus on mission-critical and data center work. This role leads estimating and bidding efforts, manages project schedules and budgets, and partners closely with the Project Superintendent to ensure safe, high-quality execution in the field. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients, coordinates internal teams and subcontractors, and drives standardization and continuous improvement across projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project estimating efforts, including preparing accurate bids and written proposals.
  • Define and develop detailed project scopes that align with client requirements and project objectives.
  • Solicit, qualify, and evaluate subcontractor bids to ensure competitive pricing and quality performance.
  • Procure materials and negotiate subcontract agreements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Prepare and manage project submittals as needed to support project approval and execution.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with labor and resource needs.
  • Monitor project costs, review invoices, and ensure adherence to established budgets and financial targets.
  • Hold regular meetings with the Project Superintendent to review progress, challenges, and priorities.
  • Perform site visits as needed to support quality control, safety compliance, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and standardize internal processes and project delivery methods.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, accountability, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Support business development efforts by building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Assist with marketing and outreach activities as needed to promote the company’s services and capabilities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support successful project and organizational outcomes.

Essential Skills

  • Strong understanding of construction project management and supervision principles.
  • Experience in construction project coordination and management, ideally within mechanical, electrical, fuel systems, or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with client relationship management and team leadership.
  • Knowledge of UST/AST regulations and related compliance standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in organizing and managing multiple projects, schedules, and budgets concurrently.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Project Superintendents, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BS in Construction Management preferred, but not required.
  • Relevant industry licenses or certifications preferred.
  • Experience in construction management for data centers, fuel systems, or other mission-critical projects is highly beneficial.
  • Experience working for a mechanical subcontractor is welcome; training and development are available for candidates with this type of experience.
  • Familiarity with construction management practices in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to contribute to business development, marketing, and client outreach activities.
