Job description

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Operational Oversight: Overseeing day to day operations to ensure production and processes run efficiently 
  • Team Leadership: Managing and leading the operations team to ensure they are motivated, productive and aligned with company goals
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborating with the General Manager and other senior leaders to develop and implement operational strategies 
  • Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocating resources to maximize productivity while controlling costs 
  • Quality Assurance: Implementing and monitoring quality control processes to meet established quality standards 
  • Process Improvement: Identifying areas for process optimization, cost reduction and efficiency improvement and then leading initiatives to achieve these objectives 
  • Budget Management: Developing and managing budgets for operations ensuring financial targets are met and costs are controlled 
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating operational risks, whether related to safety, compliance, or other factors that could affect business continuity
  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors 
  • Performance Metrics: Defining and monitoring key performance indicators (KPI's) to assess the success and efficiency of operations and to identify improvements 
  • Customer Satisfaction: Focusing on exceeding customer expectations by delivering products or services on time at the expected quality within budget 
  • Communication: Providing regular updates to the General Manager on the status of operations and challenges 
  • Emergency Response: Developing and implementing emergency response plans to minimize disruptions 

Education and Experience: 

Required:

  • 4 year degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field 
  • 7+ years Operations experience 
  • 5 years of supervisory experience 
  • Experience in Lean Sigma methodologies 
  • Experience managing in a unionized manufacturing facility 

Desired: 

  • MBA or master's degree in related field 
  • 10+ years of Operations Management experience 
  • Experience with clean room/medical device manufacturing

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language 
  • Ability to communicate clearly by conveying and receiving ideas, information and direction effectively 
  • Ability to demonstrate adequate job knowledge to deliver world class performance
