Operations Assistant

Position Overview
Davey Resource Group is seeking a Operations Assistant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Operations Coordinator, this entry-level role is critical to keeping our day-to-day business segment running smoothly.
You will serve as the administrative backbone for our field operations, split between data tracking (50%), cost review (25%), and regulatory compliance (25%). The ideal candidate has strong data analysis skills, excels at keeping systems organized, is able to effectively communicate across all levels of an organization, and is highly coachable.
This is a fully onsite position operating out of the Richfield, Ohio office (100% in person, 5 days a week).
Job Duties
What You'll Do:
Data Analysis & Field Support
  • Review, verify, and log time stamps and hours to ensure accuracy.
  • Generate and distribute regular data reports to field managers to help track team productivity.
  • Identify and flag discrepancies in daily logs or time entries.
  • Perform heavy data entry into operational tracking spreadsheets and databases.

Cost Review & Expense Tracking
  • Evaluate and process expense reports, focusing on lodging, vehicle, and travel costs.
  • Compile travel and vehicle expense data for cost-tracking reports.

Compliance & Documentation Maintenance
  • Maintain records of employee certifications, including pesticide licenses and specialized permits.
  • Assist in tracking and organizing Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory paperwork.
  • Track expiration dates and upcoming renewals.
  • Act as a liaison between operations and corporate teams for efficient record keeping.

Qualifications
What We're Seeking:
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in an administrative, data entry, or support role. We are willing to train the right person who possesses a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree / Bachelors degree or coursework in business, data analysis, or communications is a plus.
  • Tech Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft and Gsuites products, specifically Excel and Google Sheets (ability to sort, filter, and input data accurately is crucial).
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a comfortable demeanor.
  • Industry Familiarity: Prior exposure to utilities or construction is a plus, but not required.
