Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger Maintenance. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for monitoring general accounting practices, developing internal accounting controls, tracking high volume operations and assets and developing a strong accounting team. The successful candidate for this position will report directly to our Director of Finance and play an instrumental role in the financial future of the company.
Essential Duties:
  • Manage daily accounting operations, ensuring there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation
  • Create new internal accounting policies and maintain existing policies
  • Monitor emerging technology determining ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability
  • Develop monthly and quarterly accounting reports for the management and executive teams
  • Implement and monitor the month, quarter and year-end closeout accounting schedules, including preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Experience with SOX, internal and external audit functions
  • Responsible for banking and foreign exchange transactions
  • Coordinate and support monthly financial close, cycle counts, and inventory audits
  • Reviews vendor invoices for payments of indirect materials, including research, correspondence, and follow-up of discrepancies
  • Monthly reconciliations of vendor statements vs. PECNA payables
  • Various general ledger account reconciliations - ensuring accurate financial postings
  • Ability to identify issues and work within the finance team and other teams to resolve the issues
  • Assist auditors with any inquiries and samples
  • Works closely and collaboratively across multi-department teams
  • Communicate effectively with fellow team members and members of other departments
  • Ability to use reasoning to solve problems that may arise
  • Utilize established resources to complete work efficiently and effectively
  • Timeliness and accuracy of work is important
  • Other various administrative support as needed

Education:
  • Basic/Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in full cycle accounting
  • Fundamental understanding of general accounting principles and procedures
  • Advanced literacy with Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheets and database functions for tracking, variance analysis and reporting Knowledge of SAP, Oracle or another fully integrated ERP system is a benefit
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
