We are currently seeking a driven, detail-oriented Head of Operational Finance & Accounting to join our growing Finance team at Ontic, a high-growth, highly diversified global aerospace manufacturer. You will report to the Finance Director and will have an onsite work structure in Miramar, FL.
The Head of Operational Finance & Accounting is a key partner to Finance and broader business, responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient accounting operations. This is high visibility, high impact role with significant opportunity for growth within the organization. The accounting Manager is responsible for leading all general accounting, financial close and statutory reporting for the site. This role partners closely with FP&A, Tax, Operations, and Global Finance to ensure financial integrity, compliance, and timely reporting while supporting business decision-making.
To be considered for the Head of Operational Finance & Accounting opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Accounting environment.
  • CPA certification is a must.
  • Superior interpersonal communication skills, ability to work well in a team environment as well as stand out from the crowd when needed
  • Excellent presentation skills with ability to distill and explain complex data simply and concisely
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing company
  • Self-starter, innate curiosity, and a problem-solving mentality
  • Knowledge of Syteline Infor ERP, OneStream, and/or Concur
  • Strong written communication skills using business/financial writing techniques

As a Head of Operational Finance & Accounting , you will:
  • Partner with Finance leadership and Operation teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong accounting practices
  • Provide clear, timely financial information and insights to support management decision-making
  • Own and manage day-to-day accounting activities for the site. Activities include:
  • Lead, mentor and develop accounting staff; support professional growth and succession planning
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Keep the team on track for a 3-day close
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules; ensure compliance with IFRS and company policies
  • Own balance sheet integrity, including cash, AR, AP inventory, fixed assets, accruals, reserves and intercompany accounts
  • Prepare and review supporting schedules; provide variance analysis and narrative explanations to management
  • Interface with Group Finance on consolidation, intercompany accounting, and corporate reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls; identify and remediate control gaps
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function, including process standardization, automation, and system enhancements
  • Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis through accurate and timely financial data
  • Assist with special projects, including integrations, system implementations and process transformations
  • Ad hoc requests and reporting.
