As the Payment Platform & Treasury Operations Manager, you will sit within the Finance organization as the single DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) for our corporate payment infrastructure, merchant services, and payout capabilities within The Roam Payment Platform by Atlas. Operating at the intersection of treasury strategy, platform cost optimization, and cross-functional product delivery, you will ensure our financial rails are scalable, cost-efficient, and compliant across all markets.

In this role, you will manage cash settlement flows, optimize card processing fees, and ensure financial data integrity across our ERP and payment rails. Simultaneously, you will serve as the strategic bridge between Finance, Engineering and Go-To-Market teams, translating customer feedback into IT roadmap requirements, driving platform cost efficiencies and partnering with commercial teams to enable and onboard key clients onto our payment platforms.

The Payment Platform & Treasury Operation Manager will be required to travel to our HQ in Marlborough, MA on occasion. Defining Success in This Role: Success in this role is defined by the financial efficiency, security and scalability of our payment platforms. You will have succeeded when:

  • Roam Finance runs seamlessly with continuously optimized unit economics/interchange fees and automated reconciliation and reporting.
  • Treasury operations, cash settlement flows and general ledger reconciliations achieve near-perfect accuracy.
  • The Engineering team receives clear, market-informed product specifications derived from customer usage, feedback and operational needs with clear prioritization.
  • Commercial teams are equipped with deep platform knowledge, enabling smooth client onboarding and clear articulation of program benefits.
Responsibilities and Duties

The ideal candidate will combine deep treasury and payment rail experience with proactive cross-functional leadership across product, IT and commercial teams.

Payment Platform Ownership & Fee Optimization
  • Serve as the end-to-end administrator and operational owner of our finance and payment solutions, overseeing processing capabilities, feature rollouts and transactional flows.
  • Continuously monitor, analyze and optimize payment platform processing costs, interchange rates, acquiring fees, and transaction economics to minimize operational expense.
  • Maintain direct oversight of vendor relationships, platform SLAs and reporting tools associated with key payment processing rails.
  • Work to expand our relationships to support additional vendors, currencies as we globalize the solution.
2. Treasury Management & Financial Operations
  • Apply strong corporate finance and treasury expertise to manage cash liquidity, transaction settlement schedules, card issuing/acquiring mechanics and balance reconciliations.
  • Partner with core accounting/finance to ensure accurate configuration and posting logic within our ERP (e.g., Unit4), guaranteeing ledger accuracy from transaction capture to financial reporting.
  • Implement robust validation rules, risk mitigation strategies and exception-handling frameworks across KYC, AML, credit underwriting and fraud prevention.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Finance, Commercial teams and Engineering to shape and prioritize the internal payment product roadmap.
  • Gather direct insights from customer feedback, sales engagements and internal operational friction points to define actionable technical requirements for engineering.
  • Partner with engineering to automate financial middle-layer workflows, replacing manual processes with auditable, scalable software solutions.
4. Commercial Support & Client Onboarding
  • Collaborate with business development and sales teams to identify suitable customers and communicate the core financial benefits of our payment programs.
  • Participate in client solution design as a payment platform SME, helping translate complex financial capabilities into easy-to-understand value propositions.
  • Work closely with implementation teams and customer IT contacts to ensure seamless, timely onboarding onto Atlas Roam and payment platform solutions.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Payment Rails Expertise: Hands-on experience managing modern payment gateways and processing platforms like Stripe, Brex and Revolu (including deep knowledge of processing fee structures, interchange optimization, APIs and portal tools).
  • Treasury & Core Finance: Strong foundation in corporate treasury, liquidity management, B2B billing dynamics, card issuing/acquiring and general ledger reconciliation.
  • IT & Product Interface: Demonstrated ability to act as the business owner to IT/Engineeringโ€”translating user/client needs into roadmap priorities and technical requirements.
  • Commercial & Enablement Aptitude: Comfort operating in client-facing settings to explain platform benefits, support solution design and guide customer IT teams through onboarding.
  • Analytical & Cost-Driven Mindset: Proven track record of auditing payment costs, identifying fee leakages and optimizing platform economics.
  • Execution & Autonomy: Strong project ownership mindset with the ability to balance day-to-day treasury controls with forward-looking software and process enhancements.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Project & Product Software: Jira, Confluence and roadmapping software.
  • Workspace: Google Workspace (GSuite).
Language Skills:
