Job description

The role:

As an Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for providing a best-in-class experience to our eaters and our chefs. You are responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures for CookUnity's fulfillment and logistics department. As an Operations Manager, you manage, motivate, and inspire teams of employees (90 -100 associates). You provide direction and goals for process, equipment, and infrastructure improvements to improve reliability, efficiencies, and long-term costs.

Responsibilities:
  • P&L Ownership:ย Manage and optimize financial performance for fulfillment and logistics, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Labor & Cost Management:ย Oversee labor planning and cost control strategies to maintain efficiency while meeting operational targets.
  • Operational Efficiency:ย Drive process improvements through methodologies such as 5S, Lean, or Six Sigma to improve productivity, accuracy, and organization.
  • Fulfillment & Logistics Strategy:ย Ensure on-time, accurate dispatching and delivery, including oversight of route optimization and last-mile logistics execution.
  • 3PL Oversight:ย Manage relationships and performance of third-party logistics partners to guarantee quality and reliability.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:ย Leverage analytics to inform operational strategies, identify trends, and implement measurable improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:ย Partner with Customer Experience, Product, and Engineering to streamline processes and ensure seamless order fulfillment.
  • Continuous Improvement:ย Foster a culture of innovation and accountability, improving safety, quality, cost efficiency, and scalability of warehouse operations.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in order fulfillment, transportation, and/or warehouse management operations
  • Effective project management skills, well-versed in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement
  • Proficiency with Google apps (Gmail, drive, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Experience using large databases and e-commerce frameworks (we use Magento and OnFleet)
  • Ability to look around corners to anticipate problems before they arise, with a proactive approach to innovation
  • Proven ability to effectively motivate and manage a high-performing team
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  • Excitement for working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of ambiguity and change
