To thrive as an Operating Room Travel Nurse, you need a solid background in perioperative nursing, knowledge of surgical procedures, and a valid RN license with several years of OR experience. Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and experience with EMR systems and surgical safety protocols are typically expected. Strong adaptability, excellent communication, and teamwork skills are vital for adjusting quickly to new hospital environments and working effectively with various surgical teams. These abilities ensure seamless patient care, safety, and collaboration in the fast-paced and ever-changing operating room settings.
