Job Overview

Our organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse to join our Level 1 Trauma Center's Main Operating Room located on the New Brunswick campus.

Position Summary

The Operating Room Nurse will deliver exceptional patient care within the surgical environment, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. This position demands a meticulous and proactive individual who excels in a dynamic setting and is focused on enhancing surgical outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, while adhering to ethical guidelines as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • Ensure safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles and maintaining awareness of personal knowledge and experience levels.
  • Report any identified safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
  • Maintain knowledge of the patient demographics served.
  • Supervise and guide the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
  • Set and assess priorities consistently, implementing interventions with measurable outcomes aimed at improvement.
  • Act as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to tailor care plans to meet specific patient needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Current New Jersey Registered Nurse License.
