Job description

JOB TITLE: Materials Manager - Healthcare

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials to support daily surgical center operations.
  • Verifies incoming shipments against purchase orders, distributes items to proper locations, tracks backorders, and prepares documentation for leadership review.
  • Manages and maintains automated systems used for materials and inventory tracking.
  • Leads physical inventory processes and ensures completion of all required reporting.
  • Identifies cost-saving opportunities, supports product trials, maintains savings documentation, conducts cost analyses, and collaborates with physicians on product selection.
  • Sources and secures pricing and quotes for medical supplies, equipment, and related products; ensures compliance with procurement standards for acquisition, tracking, and disposal.
  • Coordinates the repair or replacement of damaged or malfunctioning equipment to minimize disruption to patient care and operations.
  • Adheres to organizational policies and promotes responsible financial stewardship.
  • Communicates regularly with leadership and the Administrator regarding operational updates and issues.
  • Provides additional support as needed, including assisting in the operating room when required.
  • Complies with employee health, staffing, and personnel policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate, Certified Surgical Tech or 6+ months experience
  • Experience in materials management in an OR setting
  • Orthopedic experience preferred
  • Strong computer and organizational skills required.
  • Healthcare experience required
