Job description

Operating Room Nurse

This position is for an experienced operating room nurse. The shift will consist of four 10-hour days from 06:45 to 17:15. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience in the operating room. Experience in level I trauma centers is required. Candidates should be able to float within their skill set if needed. Weekends will be required once per month. On-call duties may apply, typically one weeknight per week. Candidates must have completed specific procedures and be familiar with various surgical equipment and instruments. Cerner charting experience is preferred. The facility is a Magnet-designated acute care hospital. All requested time off must be reviewed and approved by the manager. Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for application. RTO requests exceeding five days require approval. Each candidate must be prepared to work two out of three major holidays.

Minimum three years of experience in operating room nursing required. Active license required. BLS required, CNOR preferred. General OR and trauma experience required. Level I trauma experience required. Experience with laparoscopic assisted cases. Experience with general surgery cases such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and hernia repair. Required skills in neurology, orthopedic, plastic surgery, transplant, urology, and trauma cases. Administration of blood products. Infection control knowledge. Universal protocol compliance.
