Job Title: Interim Director of Operating Room (OR) Services

Location: St. Paul, MN (Onsite)

Duration: 9–12 Months Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Interim Director of Operating Room (OR) Services to lead a high-impact operational improvement initiative within a healthcare environment. This role is responsible for assessing, stabilizing, and optimizing perioperative operations while driving performance improvement, accountability, and cultural transformation across the OR department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and improve OR operations, including throughput, scheduling, staffing models, case flow, and block utilization
• Identify operational gaps and implement process improvement initiatives
• Improve efficiency, resource utilization, and overall operational performance
• Evaluate team dynamics, culture, engagement, and accountability across surgeons, anesthesia, nursing, and OR leadership
• Coach leaders and staff to strengthen performance expectations and professional standards
• Support performance management initiatives and address operational or behavioral concerns
• Establish standardized workflows, operational processes, and leadership expectations
• Partner with executive leadership, HR, and clinical teams to drive sustainable improvements
• Develop recommendations for future organizational structure, staffing models, and governance processes
• Create a transition plan to ensure long-term success after the engagement ends

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Operating Room Director, Perioperative Director, or similar leadership role
• Strong background in perioperative services and healthcare operations
• Experience leading operational turnaround, performance improvement, and cultural transformation initiatives
• Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
• Experience partnering with physicians, surgeons, anesthesia teams, and executive leadership
• Ability to analyze operational metrics and implement process improvements
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• RN, CRNA, or other clinical healthcare background
• Minimum 5 years of relevant clinical experience
