Job description

Job Summary:
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room to provide skilled nursing care in an acute care facility. The Registered Nurse will perform patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and at least one year of nursing experience. The position primarily involves variable shifts with a focus on daytime hours.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide skilled nursing care and case management in the Operating Room setting.
  • Perform patient assessments and monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain sterile field and ensure adherence to infection control protocols.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
  • Participate in patient safety initiatives and quality improvement programs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse license in California or pending license accepted.
  • Minimum of 1 year nursing experience.
  • Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
  • Strong interdisciplinary team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience in acute care or Operating Room nursing.
  • Familiarity with hospital policies and procedures related to surgical care.
  • Ability to work with variable shifts including occasional weekends.
Special Considerations:
  • Reduced Non-Billable Orientation (0 hours NBO compared to standard 40 hours).
  • RTO restrictions limit work to no more than 7 days.
  • Scrub or business casual attire required.
  • Work primarily in an acute care hospital environment.
Scheduling:
  • Variable shifts with a primary focus on 8:30 AM start times.
  • Weekend work required as needed.
