Position Overview

A Magnet-designated, nonprofit Level II Trauma Center is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse Manager to lead a large, diverse perioperative service line.

This leadership role oversees the General OR, Cardiac OR, Orthopedic OR, and Ambulatory Surgery Center, including 3 Assistant Nurse Managers and up to 120 FTEs. The Manager has responsibility for clinical operations, staffing, performance, budgets, and department strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Direct operations across 4 perioperative areas
  • Lead 3 Assistant Nurse Managers and up to 120 FTEs
  • Manage operating and capital budgets
  • Drive OR utilization, turnover, throughput, and performance improvements
  • Partner with surgeons, anesthesia, and hospital leadership
  • Develop staff through education, certification, and the Clinical Ladder
  • Manage performance evaluations and departmental goals
Requirements
  • BSN from a CCNE-accredited program required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Active Maryland RN license
  • BLS certification
  • National certification required
  • 3-5 years of progressive OR nursing experience
  • Demonstrated supervisory/leadership progression
  • Strong fiscal and operational management skills
