Could you be the full-time EPU Manager (Elementary Production Unit) in Kingston, ON we’re looking for?


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive production management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated, innovative, and collaborative teammates. You'll lead producion activities on the shopfloor for our products, making a significant impact on our production flow and project execution ensuirng Quality, Cost, Delivery commitments in compliance with EHS policies. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (supply chain, quality assurance, industrialization, testing, EHS), manage training and hiring for production personnel, and much more. 

You'll play a central role in ensuring the smooth production and delivery of signaling products for one of Canada’s largest public transit transformation projects.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Contributes partially to Supply chain set up, Quality plan validation, and Industrialization activities
  • Manage manufacturing and production preparation and setup
  • Responsible for requests for training & qualification of operators, requests for hiring (internal, external, temporary), requests & requirements for sub-contracting
  • Responsible for the industrial process Hand-over from industrialization to production
  • Deliver production plan on time with expected Quality, Cost and Delivery level
  • Responsible for APSYS (Alstom Performance SYStem) deployment preparation
  • Responsible for the operators training (covering manufacturing & self-inspections), as well as developing the production team competencies
  • Manage task assignment to operators, self-inspections, dynamic checklist, NCR, rework, missing parts, waivers/deviations, incomplete operations, On time, closing of work orders in MES 
  • Monitor productive & Nonproductive hours booked in ERP of all operators
  • Manage APSYS deployment, SQCD performance, and tracking the associated KPI  as well as continuous improvement of SQCD performance 
  • Optimizations of the workstation/work center using of APSYS Tools
  • Control Issues Management for production activities ensuring issues are raised in ERP on time 
  • Contribution to corrective action of the issue (e.g. QRQC) 
  • Make sure that all product specifications and manufacturing procedures comply with regulations
  • Set high standards to reach production goals, ensuring that higher quantities produced do not compromise quality. If defects are discovered in products, and come up with solutions
  • Responsible for the safety and productivity of all production employees staffed on designated shift, as well as plant security
  • Responsible for time management (presence management and activity management) of all employees, and assuring compliance with the local legislation
  • Contribution to the development of the operators, which means further development of the qualification matrix for product-related and technology-related processes, as well as general technological and personal qualification

  • Qualified technician or experienced worker in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical domain. Technical diploma or engineering degree preferred 
  • 8 to 10 years experience in Industrial or Manufacturing management, on electronics, electrical or mechanical devices
  • Previous operational position in a manufacturing site as a Production or Line Supervisor managing production operators is mandatory 
  • Good understanding of operations, supply chain, logistics and special processes
  • Strong knowledge of product/system technical requirements
  • Experience in Railway industry, preferably within an industrialization environment for signaling products prefered
  • Experience working with SAP or similar systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $75,000 – $100,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
