Operating Room I Lexington, KY
$15,000 Sign on Bonus Available for Qualified Individuals
Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.
Description Registered Nurse-OR:
  • Assessment of patients' needs.
  • Development of patient care plan/s
  • Provision of direct care.
  • Management of patient care delivery.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Support for quality care.
  • Customer relations and healing environment.
  • On call requirement weekends/holidays picked by rotation.
  • Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery.
  • Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity.
  • Must possess ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.

Requirements Registered Nurse-OR:
  • Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
