Job description

Position is contingent upon contract award As the Stationary Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and reliability of the facility's utility infrastructure, including chiller plants, generator plants, and associated distribution systems. This position oversees contractor personnel working within utility plants and mechanical rooms and ensures all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards. The Stationary Engineer supports continuous 24/7 critical operations and ensures uninterrupted utility services to the facility. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Monitor, operate, and maintain chiller plants, generator plants, and related utility distribution systems.
* Direct, coordinate, and manage contractor personnel performing work within utility plants and utility rooms.
* Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for utility equipment and infrastructure.
* Ensure reliable operation of power generation systems, chilled water systems, and large-scale mechanical and electrical equipment.
* Develop, prioritize, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance work plans and operational schedules.
* Respond to emergencies, equipment failures, and critical operational issues in a timely and effective manner.
* Maintain compliance with all applicable EHS regulations, standards, and facility procedures.
* Support and maintain 24/7 critical operations environments to ensure continuous system availability and reliability.
* Maintain accurate operational logs, maintenance records, inspection reports, and contractor documentation.
* Coordinate shutdowns, repairs, testing, and commissioning activities with facility stakeholders and contractors.
* Identify opportunities for operational improvements, energy efficiency, and system reliability enhancements.
* Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry best practices. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: * Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
* Current Stationary Engineer certification or applicable operating engineer license required.
* Minimum of ten (10) years of facilities maintenance experience.
* Minimum of five (5) consecutive years of supervisory experience in facilities operations and/or maintenance.
* Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining:
* Power generation systems
* Chilled water systems
* Large-scale facility utility equipment KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: * Demonstrated experience supporting 24/7 critical operations environments.
* Experience prioritizing and managing daily, weekly, and monthly work plans.
* Demonstrated knowledge and application of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices within assigned work areas.
* Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple contractors and operational priorities simultaneously.
* Experience working in mission-critical, healthcare, government, industrial, or large commercial facilities.
* Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
* Familiarity with applicable local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
