Job description

Amentumis seeking an Electronic Technician II to join our teamat Eielson, AFB, Alaska. This is an intermediate level position that will provide technical support operations across a wide array of aircraft and missions. Typical duties include: laying out, fabricating, and assembling electronic components following predetermined methods and criteria; adjusting, repairing, and modifying systems, working from blueprints, sketches, drawings, and diagrams; repairing and/or replacing malfunctioning units as directed; setting up and operating standard electronic testing equipment; using hand powered and unpowered tools and simple machine power tools to fabricate electronic components; and performing related job duties as required. The duties and requirements listed below are not mutually exclusive.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform work on various types of electronic equipment and related devices through a combination of installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction, and testing
  • Operate and maintain electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high-voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems
  • Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and effect repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition
  • Manipulate computer keyboards and view and interpret computer displays
  • Troubleshoot to the component level and make needed repairs
  • Identify and report corrections/improvements to technical data
  • Identify and report product quality/material deficiencies
  • Identify and report supply discrepancies
  • Conduct inventories and maintain accountability records, including ancillary and support equipment
  • Assist with inspection requirements and implementing approved configuration changes
  • Perform equipment status reporting, maintenance data collection and job documentation
  • Ensure compliance with Amentum's Quality Control and Safety Programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in electronics maintenance, repair, or operations.
  • Basic knowledge of DC and AC electronics, digital logic, solid-state devices and circuits
  • Familiarity with Radar and High-Power transmitters or similar systems preferred.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturers' manuals, schematics, and technical documentation to solve routine problems.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
  • Familiarity with electronic, electromechanical and computer systems
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and must meet all requirements for assigned vehicles
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Ability to work indoors, outdoors and travel to remote locations
  • Reside near or be willing to relocate to the vicinity of Fairbanks/Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiarity with threat systems is desired
  • High power Radio Frequency devices experience desired
  • Radar experience desired
  • Ability to read Cyrillic is desired
