Job description

Experience required: Pre-Op, Inter-Op, and post-op and can scrub. We don't need them to scrub but we need them to supervise a CST who is experienced but is working on certification in OR. Our volumes are low. It is 40 hours for the week. There is after hours call which would be split between 2 nurses at this time. We require ACLS, BLS, PALS for the OR.
Responsibilities - Preoperative Nursing - Prepare patients for surgery by - Preop history and physical assessment - Assess vital signs - Start IV's - Administer any preoperative medications as ordered - Post operative Nursing - Monitor patient's vital signs and level of sedation - Provide treatment for PONV, pain, unstable vital signs as needed. Ie, provide oxygen and blood pressure support. - Anesthesia and surgeon stay in house until patients are discharged to assist as needed. - Circulating - Assist the surgeon for general, orthopedic, and cataract surgeries, c/sections, and traumas. - Charting - Familiar with Cerner We prefer that our OR nurses have scrub experience, but it is not required. Call is required 14-15 days/month.
