This role is responsible for building credibility, increasing relevance, and shaping how Opera is perceived in discussions about AI browsers, interfaces, and the future of the web.
This is a senior advocacy and influence role. It is not a performance marketing, PR execution, or developer relations position.
Role and Responsibilities:
External Representation & Thought Leadership
  • Serve as Opera's public voice in US technology conversations
  • Speak at industry events, conferences, and forums by invitation
  • Participate in podcasts, long-form interviews, and product discussions
  • Contribute meaningfully to debates around AI browsers and emerging interfaces

Ecosystem Relationship Building
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with founders, builders, creators, analysts, journalists, and investors
  • Engage as a peer within the technology ecosystem

Market Bridge & Local Presence
  • Establish a meaningful Opera presence in Silicon Valley
  • Host curated discussions and ecosystem gatherings over time
  • Collaborate closely with global teams, particularly colleagues traveling from Europe
  • Act as a bridge between Opera's European heritage and the US tech environment

Ideal Candidate's Profile:
  • Established credibility in tech media, podcasting, product analysis, or technology commentary
  • Strong understanding of AI, modern software platforms, and browser technology
  • Proven experience speaking publicly and engaging in unscripted discussions
  • Solid technical fluency without requiring deep engineering expertise
  • Existing network within the US technology ecosystem
  • Strong judgment, intellectual independence, and strategic thinking ability

Success Indicators
  • Opera is naturally referenced in US discussions about AI browsers and future interfaces
  • Invitations to speak at relevant technology events and forums
  • Strong presence in respected podcasts and product discussions
  • A visible and credible network within the US technology ecosystem
  • Internal leadership relies on this role for ecosystem intelligence and perspective

Why Join Opera
Opera is the world's oldest browser innovator and one of the few independent browser companies operating at global scale. For over 30 years, Opera has competed directly with the largest technology companies in the world by building products users actively choose.
Today, nearly 300 million people use Opera products globally. The company is profitable, growing, and investing significantly in AI-driven browsing experiences.
Opera has thrived by offering a credible alternative to default technology platforms. As AI reshapes how users interact with the web, the browser is again becoming a critical surface in computing.
As the browser re-emerges as a strategic layer in the AI era, Opera is strengthening its presence in the US technology ecosystem. The Chief Evangelist plays a central role in that effort.
This role offers the opportunity to represent a company with deep experience, strong momentum, and a clear independent point of view at a moment when the next era of browsing is being defined.
