Job description

What We Look For...
An experienced Hotel Controller to join our team. This role will be responsible for all hotel accounting and finance functions, for the provision of accurate, timely and objective financial reports, and for safeguarding hotel assets in accordance with required standards.
The Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that all work is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with Radiate Hospitality standard accounting practices by directing the overall operations of the Accounting Department.
  • Prepare all financial statements monthly, and manage month end and year end closings
  • Maintain accounting reconciliations for all accounts, including the Balance Sheet
  • Work closely with all senior management of the hotel to develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Oversee bi-monthly payroll processes
  • Manage the day-to-day financial activities of the hotel, and where applicable, management of the accounting department
  • Ensure all finance related policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Prepare all monthly, quarterly, and annual city and state tax filings
  • Assures compliance with internal controls
  • Investigates problems that may arise in reporting of hotel operations
  • Analyzes variances to budget in operating statement, making appropriate recommendations for improved efficiencies and cost savings
  • Ensure all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions are carried out in a timely and accurate manner
  • Oversees monthly and quarterly inventory counts
  • Reviews and maintains accurate files on all contractual obligations of the hotel
  • Prepares reports as requested to develop improved management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities
  • Maintains capital expenditure register
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of your departments.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other hotel employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate
  • Performs other duties as requested.

The Model Qualifications:
  • 2 years of hotel experience preferred.
  • 4 to 6 years related experience in accounting required, 4 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience using M3 accounting software, OPERA PMS and MICRO POS, ProfitSword desirable.
