This is a RN Travel position. You must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered for this position.

Description:
RN Supervisor - Part-Time Evenings | Long-Term Care | New York StateContract Details
  • 22 to 26-week contract through holidays required
  • Part-Time Evenings: 2x8s or 3x8s weekly
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage as needed (3x8.0)
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing (required)
  • BSN preferred
Licensure
  • Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) licensure required
Certifications
  • BLS required - must be obtained through AHA or RQI system during clinical orientation
  • CPI certification required - must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Minimum Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in long-term care
  • Supervisor or clinical lead experience over multiple units (charge nurse experience alone does not meet this requirement)
Job Functions
  • Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units
  • Assures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts
  • Communicates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems and collaborates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Managers to resolve problems
  • Contacts Director of Nursing on off hours for only those critical issues requiring resolution and leaves appropriate communication at work for all other items
  • Makes sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator - LTC (off-shift/weekends) within identified scope of responsibility
Other Requirements
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, ancillary services, and customers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage self professionally in stressful situations
  • Ability to facilitate clinical management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling
  • Familiarity with NYSDOH requirements
  • Demonstrated excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills
  • Computer literacy required
Exposure Control Classification
  • Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated
  • Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissue
Customer Focus
  • Models, exemplifies, and leads in accordance with Healing Environment principles
  • Specifically: being professional, communicating effectively, and attending to the care environment
  • This is evidenced by work behavior which ensures safety, promotes dignity, respect and well-being, and exemplifies healthy relationships
