Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven Maître d' to serve as the face of one of our premier River Oaks dining destinations. As the first and last impression of our restaurant, you will create exceptional guest experiences through gracious hospitality, personalized service, and seamless front-of-house coordination.

The Maître d' oversees reservations, seating operations, and guest flow while partnering with restaurant leadership to ensure every guest receives an elevated dining experience. This role is ideal for a polished hospitality professional who thrives in an upscale environment, anticipates guest needs, and leads with professionalism, confidence, and attention to detail.

Guest Experience & Hospitality
  • Welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
  • Create memorable experiences by recognizing returning guests, celebrating special occasions, and anticipating guest preferences.
  • Manage VIP reservations, special requests, and private dining inquiries with discretion and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally while exceeding service expectations.
Front-of-House Operations
  • Oversee reservations, seating assignments, waitlists, and dining room flow to maximize both guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate closely with managers and service teams to ensure smooth table turns without compromising the guest experience.
  • Monitor the dining room throughout service to maintain exceptional hospitality and presentation standards.
  • Maintain accurate guest profiles and reservation notes using platforms such as OpenTable, SevenRooms, or Resy.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with culinary, service, and leadership teams to ensure seamless execution throughout each service.
  • Support front-of-house leadership in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and hospitality standards.
  • Assist with training and mentoring host team members on guest engagement, professionalism, and service expectations.
  • Uphold Culinary Khancepts' culture, core values, and commitment to excellence.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Maître d', Lead Host, Guest Relations Manager, or Front-of-House leader in an upscale restaurant, fine dining, luxury hotel, or private club.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills.
  • Professional, polished, and confident presence with a passion for hospitality.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to anticipate guest needs and provide personalized service.
  • Experience with reservation management platforms such as OpenTable, SevenRooms, or Resy preferred.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Food Handler Certification may be required in accordance with local or state regulations.
Preferred
  • Experience in fine dining, chef-driven restaurants, or luxury hospitality.
  • Background in luxury hotels, private clubs, or Michelin-recognized concepts.
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, and elevated dining service.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
