Job description

Position: Openshift Developer

Location: Charlotte, NC

Duration: Contract

Job Description:

Assess and understand the architecture, dependencies, and deployment configurations of existing applications running on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).

Plan and execute the migration of applications from PCF to OpenShift, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining application functionality.

Implement the necessary configuration changes and deploy the migrated applications to OpenShift clusters, following best practices for container orchestration and management.

Identify and resolve any issues that arise during and after migration, including deployment failures, container errors, and platform-specific problems in the OpenShift environment.

Fine-tune applications and container settings for optimal performance, scalability, and efficient resource utilization in the OpenShift platform.

Implement security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), secrets management, and compliance with corporate policies during and after the migration process.

Work closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure smooth migration, provide clear documentation for the OpenShift environment, and offer support post-migration.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in designing and architecting enterprise container platforms, with 5+ years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker and container orchestration.
  • Proficiency in OpenShift cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools and CI/CD tools using Harness
  • Familiarity with cloud-native patterns, microservices, and application modernization strategies.
  • Scripting languages like shell / Helm chats modules
  • Experience in Autosys
