Description

The Business Intelligence Analyst supports assigned business intelligence initiatives from discovery through deployment. This role works directly with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technology partners to understand processes, define requirements, analyze data, build reporting solutions, validate outputs, and support adoption. The analyst is expected to perform hands-on work in SQL, Power BI, and related tools to turn business needs into accurate, usable insights and scalable reporting assets.

Requirements



Support assigned business intelligence initiatives, including scope definition, stakeholder alignment, schedules, checklists, and risk/issue tracking.

Facilitate working sessions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to document current state, identify gaps, and define future state requirements, business rules, and KPI needs.

Query, profile, and validate data using SQL; investigate anomalies, reconcile results, and support root-cause analysis for reporting issues.

Build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and supporting data models that deliver clear, actionable visibility for business users.

Assist with Python-based data preparation, transformation, analysis, and automation activities where appropriate.

Document reporting logic, metric definitions, source mappings, test results, and supporting procedures to improve clarity, continuity, and reuse.

Partner with technology teams and external consultants to define requirements, validate solutions, and support deployments that enable reliable reporting and analytics.

Develop and execute testing activities, log defects, validate fixes, and confirm solutions are ready for release and business use.

Support communication, training, and adoption efforts by developing job aids, presentations, and guides tailored to user needs.

Maintain project and BI artifacts in designated repositories; ensure file structure, naming, and metadata are complete and accurate.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Strong SQL skills, including the ability to query, join, aggregate, validate, and troubleshoot data across multiple sources.

Proficiency in Power BI, including report development, data modeling, dashboard design, and support of business-facing analytics solutions.

Experience with Python for data analysis, transformation, or automation of repeatable reporting and analytical tasks.

Process analysis skills, including current/future state mapping, problem solving, requirements gathering, and interpretation of operational metrics.

Ability to translate business needs into clear reporting logic, data definitions, calculations, and functional requirements.

Digital proficiency with Microsoft 365 and common enterprise systems and platforms; exposure to Microsoft Fabric is a plus.

Strong prioritization, organization, and professional communication skills; ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently with accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications:

3+ years relevant work experience.

2+ years supporting business intelligence, analytics, reporting, data analysis, or process improvement initiatives.

Demonstrated hands-on experience with SQL and Power BI; Python experience preferred.
