Payroll Status - Part Time
Work Hours - 8:30am-12:30pm

Early Childhood Teacher 
Support Staff / 2024-2025 School Year
Company Summary 
The Portable Classroom, in a nutshell, is a school readiness and socialization program designed for toddlers and young preschoolers. We believe that play is work and that learning is doing. We center our curriculum around the idea that "every moment is a teaching moment". We understand that the toddler's mind is in a constant state of absorption and that when provided with age-appropriate opportunities for exploration, their potential for growth is limitless. This idea combined with our own experiences as mothers and educators provides a curriculum that caters to the whole child; cognitively, socially, and emotionally.
Minimum Qualifications 
  1. Experience: 2+ years of classroom experience 
  2. Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Early Childhood Certification 
  3. Knowledge and skills: 
    • ●  Love working with children ages 18 months - 4yrs old. 
    • ●  Be a self-starter and be self-motivated. 
    • ●  Be dependable and responsible. 
    • ●  Have the ability to work well in a team-teaching environment. 
    • ●  Must have basic computer skills and know how to navigate Google Docs and strong written and verbal        communication skills.
Physical Demands: Positions may vary from standing, sitting, or walking. On occasion it may be necessary to move quickly, run, etc. Be able to lift up to 40lbs. 
Conditions of Employment 

  1. Must have or be willing to obtain CPR certification. 
  2. Must submit to a live scan and background check. 
  3. Reliable transportation. 
  4. Willing to commute. 
Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Attend a monthly staff meeting (Occasionally In-person) 
  2. Connect weekly with your teaching partner to lesson plan. 
  3. Connect weekly via Newsletter with parents/guardians. 
  4. Manage and keep track of snack budgets for the class. 
  5. Pick up supplies needed in our office in Eagle Rock (90041).
