Registered Nurse - Oncology OP (Outpatient Infusion)
Facility: Rex Hospital - UNC Rex Wakefield Onc Infusion
Location: 11200 Governor Manly Way, Raleigh, NC 27614
Start Date: 06/22/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (5x8 Hours, 40 Hours/Week)
Charting System: EPIC
Note: Outpatient Infusion Clinic - No weekends, no holidays, no on-call
Position Overview:
Outpatient Oncology Infusion RN responsible for providing safe and competent care to oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy, and supportive infusion therapies in an ambulatory setting.
Job Duties:
  • Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy infusions per oncology protocols
  • Perform IV insertion, port access, and central line care
  • Provide blood product administration and monitor for transfusion reactions
  • Administer IV iron, hydration fluids, electrolytes, and injections
  • Monitor patients during and after infusion therapies for adverse reactions
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and side effects
  • Ensure safe handling and administration of hazardous medications (chemo safety protocols)
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility standards
  • Collaborate with oncology providers and interdisciplinary care team
  • Support patient emotional care and education throughout treatment
Requirements:
Licensure: Active NC RN License
Experience: Minimum 1 year nursing experience (Oncology/Infusion preferred)
Certifications: BLS (AHA)
Other Requirement:
  • Experience in oncology or infusion strongly preferred
  • Strong IV skills preferred
  • Ability to manage chemotherapy/biotherapy safely
