Hearts With A Mission has a great opportunity for full-time (40 hours per week) Safe Families For Children and Hearts For Seniors Program Coordinator.

This is an onsite position based in Lincoln County. Candidates must be available to work from our Newport office daily. Remote work is not available for this role.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Safe Families For Children and Hearts For Seniors Program Coordinator will provide oversight of all Safe Families For Children and Hearts For Seniors program implementation; supervision, training for county-level program staff; and coordinate emergency, on-call support to staff and volunteers in SFFC and HFS programs. The Coordinator will plan and participate in community engagement activities to develop relevant partnerships. The Coordinator takes the lead role in fund development. All work is performed in compliance with organizational guidelines and policies, as well as all applicable laws.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Financial Stewardship

  • Provide oversite of SFFC and HFS Program Budgets
  • Seek out potential revenue sources
  • Lead the planning and development of special events (recruitment, fund raising, public speaking, community events etc.) in designated county in collaboration with Marketing & Development.

Leadership and Staff Management

  • Provide supervision, training and support for County Program Staff.
  • Support the development and implementation of county level Leadership Councils and ministry teams.
  • Supervise, train and support program staff all aspects program implementation, fidelity and compliance.
  • Over-see the development, coordination, and supervision of volunteer teams to assist with tasks such as social networking, monthly communication newsletters, etc.
  • Provide regular program updates to HWAM Regional Director, CEO & CPO as requested.
  • Participate in SFFC and HFS meetings, and group/individual supervision as needed.
  • Develop and implement regular in-service trainings for SFFC and HFS staff and community partners.


Program Development and Oversight

  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of the SFFC and HFS Frameworks to ensure program fidelity.
  • Network with local community resource providers to create a referral base and resource network.
  • Develop, implement and maintain electronic tracking/reporting of information pertinent to recruitment, training and clearing/certifying volunteers.
  • Oversee File maintenance and essential documents for all SFFC and HFS ensuring that they are accurate, complete, timely, and kept confidential.
  • Maintain oversite of referral calls and provide initial screening/assessment to determine eligibility.
  • Participate in quality assurance/quality improvement activities; internal HWAM activity/progress reports and external SFFC and HFS reports.
  • Lead County Programs to ensure quality of client care: planning, development, and administration of programs such that basic, developmental, and therapeutic needs of clients are met; comply with agency policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Requirements:

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience OR demonstrated competency equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with at-risk children and families and seniors preferably in a leadership capacity.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite including Excel, Word, Access and the ability to learn new software.
  • Experience public speaking in a variety of settings including child welfare, faith communities and collaborative networks.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education or a related field of study.
  • Experience recruiting, training, supervising and mobilizing volunteers.
  • Experience collaborating with faith-based organizations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Must be proficient and timely using and maintaining documentation electronically.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational/time-management skills to set own schedule and work autonomously.
  • Ability to maintain thorough and accurately electronic documentation and files.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of personal initiative and integrity.
  • Must be flexible and adapt to changes in the work environment shifting priorities on short notice.
  • Must be consistently dependable, reliable and accountable including follow through.
  • Proficient and comfortable using technology.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Demonstrated skill in the following areas: public relations/public speaking, networking, volunteer recruitment and training and working independently with little supervision.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Oregon driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance. Must maintain an acceptable driving record in compliance with HWAM insurance requirements.
  • Must provide own reliable transportation.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment ODHS Child Welfare background check.
  • Must support the Mission, Vision and Values of HWAM and SFFC.
