Professional Land Surveyor

Location: Corona, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $120,000–$160,000

Position Overview

We are representing a multidisciplinary engineering firm seeking a highly experienced Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead Surveying & Mapping operations across Southern California. This role holds responsible charge for departmental leadership, technical oversight, and client-facing business development. Project scope ranges from small-site development to large-scale tract and master-planned community work.

Key Responsibilities

Department Leadership & Management

  • Lead and manage the Surveying & Mapping Department in responsible charge.

  • Provide mentoring, development, QA/QC oversight, and operational leadership.

Technical Surveying & Project Execution

  • Direct boundary, topographic, construction staking, and mapping workflows.

  • Review and ensure accuracy of surveying calculations, analyses, and deliverables.

  • Oversee certification packages, plats, maps, ALTA/ACSM surveys, and related documents.

Client & Business Development

  • Maintain and grow client relationships across Southern California.

  • Support proposals, scope development, and strategic market expansion.

Required Qualifications

  • Active California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.

  • 10+ years of land surveying experience (boundary, topographic, construction) in Southern California.

  • 5+ years of leadership or management experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of the California Subdivision Map Act.

  • Proficiency with modern surveying technology (GPS, total stations, scanning, etc.).

  • Strong leadership and mentoring capability.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in complex boundary retracement.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for multidisciplinary coordination and client presentations.
