Online shoppers may work for grocery stores, retail companies, or as personal shoppers for individuals who need assistance with their online purchases. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and familiarity with e-commerce websites are important for this role.

What does an online shopper do?

As an online shopper, you receive online orders and shop for products indicated by your client. When processing an order, you may gather groceries from the store, select alternate products when the preferred one is unavailable, check packages for allergen warnings that may affect your client, and prepare orders for pickup by drivers. Online shoppers frequently stage products in the correct temperature areas, follow special requests for each customer, relay order information to customers, and maintain the cleanliness of an online grocery area. Many online shoppers also provide in-store and online support. You may work for grocery stores, but this position is also available at some hardware stores and other large retailers.
