Position Information
Position Type Adjunct Faculty Track Non Tenure Position Title Adjunct Faculty - Immunology Employment Status Part Time Months Campus Remote Description
Adjunct Faculty within the College of Professional Studies (CPS) are critical to the success of UNE's online programs. In this role, faculty facilitate the learning process for online students through timely and effective instruction and communication. Instructors also serve as mentors, sharing their experience to guide students and support the achievement of their educational and professional goals. Faculty contribute to student retention by creating a positive educational environment that enables students to derive maximum benefit from their program of study. Instructors receive supervision, collaboration, and guidance from the UNE Online Science Prerequisites for the Health Professions (SPHP) Program.

Responsibilities
  • Providing expert, graduate-level knowledge in Immunology. 
  • Guiding students through their educational experience while upholding and adhering to the CPS commitment to student success. 
  • Providing timely responses to student inquiries within 24 hours. 
  • Facilitating class instruction by engaging in the online course portal a minimum of five times per week. 
  • Hosting a minimum of one hour of virtual office hours per week. 
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills. 
  • Willingness to analyze best practices in online Immunology education.
Qualifications
  • Experience teaching online in an educational setting, demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and assessment, and a passion for teaching Immunology.
  • Master's degree in Immunology (or a related field); PhD preferred. 
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience in Immunology. 
  • Desire to motivate and encourage students in academic and professional settings. 
  • Expertise in teaching online and a desire to learn and apply new technological approaches to education. 
  • Experience using the Brightspace/D2L Learning Management System preferred.
