School CounselorESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Prevention and intervention programs delivered to all students to help them achieve mastery of school counseling standards.
  • Individual student planning designed to help all students plan, monitor, and manage their own learning.
  • Responsive services such as individual or small group counseling and support to address immediate student needs that are interrupting their learning.
  • Referrals: Connect students and families to school and community resources.
  • Consultation: Share strategies that support student achievement.
  • Collaboration: work with stakeholders to support student achievement and advocate for access and equity for all students.
  • Program Foundation: planning of the counseling program.
  • Management: assessments, tools, and systems used to efficiently and effectively deliver the comprehensive school counseling program.
  • Accountability: analysis of program to determine effectiveness.
  • Fair-share Responsibility: responsibilities all school staff share to ensure smooth operation of the school.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Has completed the State of Tennessee requirements for school counseling educator licensure and preparation.
  • Demonstrates competency in working effectively both on a team and independently.
  • Demonstrates ability to organize multiple priorities and maintain a flexible schedule.
  • Successfully meets all health, physical and background checks.
