Job Description:
FTNTT Lecturer of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner Concentrations
Frostburg State University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time non-tenure track (FTNTT) Lecturer in our Department of Nursing. This position is to serve as faculty member in the new Post-Masters Nurse Practitioner Certificate programs that are anticipated to begin Fall 2027. This is a full-time, 10-month contractual faculty position with teaching, service, and professional development responsibilities, that will begin Fall 2026. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications; University System of Maryland benefits package included.
The Department of Nursing at FSU provides a variety of undergraduate and graduate nursing programs and pathways including a new online LPN to BSN, a new on-campus BSN program, an online RN to BSN, and four graduate nursing concentrations. This faculty position is to teach primarily within the undergraduate on-campus and online programs.
The Department of Nursing is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that thrives on the strengths of each team member. We are looking for individuals that enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and are experienced in developing innovative and creative teaching strategies focused on student success. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to promoting diversity and have respect for our diverse student population.
Responsibilities: Teach 24 credits each academic year in the online and hybrid format at the graduate level. Advise graduate students. Design curriculum and design and coordinate curriculum in area of specialty/expertise. Devote efforts to scholarly activities and professional development. Provide service activities to the department, college, university, community, and/or profession. Other academic duties as assigned. Maintaining active practice is required to teach graduate level clinical courses. This is a hybrid position requiring on-campus time each month for meetings, and some days each semester for graduate student laboratory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned graduate degree in family nurse practitioner and/or psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from a regionally accredited university. Unrestricted APRN license or eligible for licensure in Maryland. We are seeking applicants with recent clinical nursing practice and/or considerable professional development related to clinical nursing practice.
The successful candidate will display evidence of leadership skills and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Earned or in progress doctoral degree in nursing or related field. Dual certification in family and psychiatric nurse practitioner.
