Bay Area Organization of Black Owned Businesses (BAOBOB) is a membership organization committed to connecting, informing and representing Black-owned and led businesses with an expanding customer base. BAOBOB's commitment to that connection and expansion advances economic empowerment for the Black business community throughout California.
THE POSITION:
Social Media Specialist
BAOBOB is seeking a social media creator with strong communication skills, great attention to detail and commitment to Black excellence, This new team member will be ready to nurture and grow the online presence of our existing community-based organization with a current combined social media reach of 10K.
This is a contract position.Apart from attending team meetings, the social media Specialist, will achieve the position objectives on their own work schedule, the ideal candidate will be available to team meetings , member events and make occassional site visits to member businesses.This is an immediate opening for a 6 month contract.Anticipated time commitment 10hrs/wkly.
10 hour weekly sample schedule:
team meeting-1hr
content scheduling-2hr
content development-5hr
follower engagement - 2hr
$2100 total compensation, paid in 6 equal monthly installments of $350, payable on the 15th of each month.The first month is considered onboarding, and is probationary.At the end of the six month, there will be a review with potential for extension.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy
  • Curate conten
  • Measure and report on social media posts, and campaigns, their analytics, reach and efficacy
  • Stay current with social media best practices and technologies
  • Schedule and manage copywriters and designers as needed
  • Draft, schedule and publish monthly newsletter
  • Create, maintain, and grow brand presence on new networks, as needed.
  • Manage blog and editorial calendar that aligns with social updates
  • Plan, scheduleand manage strategic boost campaigns (paid ads)
  • Initiatenew media partnerships
  • Drive engagement with social media influencers
  • Monitor and respond to DM inbox messages across all platforms social media inquiries, routing them to appropriate team members, as needed.
