Overview

Theย Programming/Bookingย Intern at Moody Center will work alongside professionals in the live entertainment, sports, and venue management industry at a top arena.ย The Programming/Booking Intern will support the day-to-day efforts of the Programmingย teamย by contributing to event research,ย industryย engagement,ย and onsite hospitality. This role offers hands-on experience in live event programming with opportunities toย assistย in both internal planning andย day-of-show hosting.ย 

This role pays an hourly rate of $13.00

This role is expected to last from August 10, 2026, and will end on December 18, 2026.

This position will remain open until October 16, 2026.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:ย 

  • Learn to research touring activity and event data, including market history, artist performance, and music release schedules, to support booking decisions.ย ย 
  • Assist the Programming team with industry hospitality by preparing gifting experiences and assembling personalized partner recognition items.ย ย 
  • Assist in research and conceptualization of creative event pitches.ย 
  • Contribute creative ideas during brainstorming sessions for future event concepts and pitch materials.ย 
  • Practice professional written communication by helping draft event experience letters and outreach messages to promoters and partners.ย 
  • Shadow team members during show days toย observeย andย assist withย promoter hosting and backstage operations.ย 
  • Helpย maintainย organization of programming documentation, contact lists, and project updates.ย 
  • Take initiative on tasks while actively seeking guidance when needed to ensure accuracy and professionalism.ย 
  • Performย additionalย learning opportunities and assignments that support the Programming team and event success.ย Other duties as assigned.ย

  • Interpret industry data and artist performance metrics to support event programming and booking strategy decisions.ย 
  • Participate in building creative event concepts by researching artists, trends, and unique promotional opportunities.ย 
  • Strengthen written communication skills by drafting event materials that support strong promoter and artist relationships.ย 
  • Build confidence navigating a live entertainment environment that requires responsiveness, professionalism, and relationship building.ย 
Qualifications
  • Interns must be currently enrolled as students at an accredited institution, which may include trade schools, community/junior colleges, or undergraduate or graduate programs
  • Background inย music/live entertainment orย demonstrated interest in the industry.ย ย 
  • Strong self-awareness, time management, and organizational skills with a proven ability to multitask and manage projects on strict deadlines.ย 
  • Understanding ofย music, popย culture, and entertainment.ย ย 
  • Positive attitude with a genuine interest in hosting and building professional relationships.ย 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentational communication with strong attention to detail and design.ย 
  • Strategic and critical thinker who is forward-thinking, analytical, and extremely well organized.ย 
  • Professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling sensitive event information.ย 
  • Strong organizational habits with the ability to prioritize tasks and seek clarification when needed.ย
