Position Overview The adjunct faculty member will teach courses in Engineering for MDC Online.
What you will be doing - Provides classroom instruction
- Revisies and develops new curriculum
- Develops and implements assessment activities to measure student learning outcomes
- Develops and teaches online courses
- Recruits, advises and evaluates students
- Teaches Dual Enrollment classes
- Prepares and writes grants for the Department of Engineering
- Participates in departmental, campus and college committees
- Teaches engineering and engineering technology courses college wide
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed - Master's degree in Engineering; or Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Engineering
- All educational degrees must be from a regional accredited institution
- Must have passion for teaching in engineering
- Posesses excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to use innovative teaching techniques
- Familiarity with distance learning and willingness to use technology tools in instruction
- Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student centered methods of instruction
- Ability to work well with students and collegues in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
Preferences - Previous online teaching experience
