The Mathematics and Statistics Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth invites applications for full-time term faculty positions in both mathematics and statistics. These are non-tenure-track appointments for fall semester 2026 and spring semester 2027, with possible extension as needed by the department. The appointment starts August 24, 2026.
Candidates will be considered for the rank Teaching Assistant Professor or Instructor, determined by qualifications. A Ph.D. is required for the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor (9403T) and a master's degree is required for the rank of Instructor (9404).
Applicants should be able to teach a wide range of mathematics and/or statistics, show evidence of teaching excellence and demonstrate a commitment to working with a diverse student population.

Duties & Responsibilities include teaching (approximately 90%) and service (approximately 10%). Teaching duties include the following: develop and teach courses (in coordination with other faculty members), demonstrate high command of the subject matter, have well organized course plans and deliver courses clearly to students, help students fulfill their academic needs, assessment and grading, and hold office hours. Service duties include meeting attendance, committee work as well as other service and outreach activities.

Qualifications
Necessary Qualifications include a master's (9404) or Ph.D. (9403T) in statistics, mathematics, or related field awarded by the time of appointment from a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications include previous teaching experience at the collegiate level (such as teaching assistant experience) to a diverse group of students, evidence of effective teaching, evidence of scholarship in statistics, mathematics, or related field, and effective written and oral communication skills appropriate to the position. A Ph.D. credential is preferred.

Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year; depending on education/qualifications/experience
