Instructional Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with Utah Core Standards.
• Develop and implement lesson plans using evidence-based instructional strategies.
• Utilize formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and monitor student progress.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs, including accommodations and modifications as required by IEPs, 504 plans, and language proficiency levels.
• Integrate technology effectively to enhance instruction and student engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in accordance with District procedures.
Classroom Environment & Student Support
• Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies appropriate for middle school learners.
• Foster critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Support students' social-emotional growth consistent with District expectations.
• Supervise students during assigned duties (hallways, lunch, assemblies, etc.).
Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities
• Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and team meetings.
• Collaborate with special education staff, counselors, and support personnel to meet student needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.

• Use math-specific formative assessments, student work analysis, and benchmark data to identify learning gaps and provide targeted intervention or enrichment.
• Provide instruction that helps students connect mathematical concepts to real-world applications and prepares them for future secondary mathematics coursework.
• Use appropriate mathematics instructional tools, including calculators, manipulatives, visual models, online platforms, and other technology resources.
• Collaborate with mathematics department members and grade-level teams to support vertical alignment, common assessments, intervention planning, and student achievement goals.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Current Utah Professional Educator License.
• Ability to meet Highly Qualified Teacher requirements under applicable state and federal guidelines.
• Must hold a Middle School Mathematics Endorsement attached to either an Elementary or Secondary Utah Educator License, or a Secondary Mathematics Endorsement.
• Knowledge of Utah Core Standards for middle school mathematics.
• Ability to teach mathematical concepts using multiple representations, strategies, and instructional approaches appropriate for middle school learners.
• Ability to use mathematics assessment data to guide instruction, intervention, enrichment, and progress monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior middle school teaching experience.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in classroom management and differentiated instruction.
• Experience integrating technology into classroom instruction.

Millard School District is seeking a qualified Secondary Math Teacher to provide standards-based mathematics instruction to middle school students. The successful candidate will support student learning through effective instruction, assessment, intervention, classroom management, collaboration, and communication with students, parents/guardians, staff, and administrators.
