What is an online labeling?

An Online Labeling job involves annotating or tagging data, such as images, text, audio, or video, to help train machine learning models. This process ensures that AI systems can recognize patterns and make accurate predictions. Tasks may include drawing bounding boxes, categorizing content, or transcribing text. It requires attention to detail, accuracy, and sometimes domain-specific knowledge. Many companies use online platforms to assign labeling tasks to remote workers.

What does an online labeling do?

As an Online Labeling professional, your typical day involves reviewing digital content—such as images, text, or audio—and accurately applying labels or tags based on specific guidelines provided by the client or employer. You may also be responsible for flagging unclear or questionable data, participating in quality assurance checks, and occasionally collaborating with team leads to clarify instructions. Most of the work is independent and often remote, allowing for flexible scheduling but requiring a strong sense of self-motivation. Staying consistent and adhering to detailed requirements are key to meeting project standards and deadlines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in online labeling, and why are they important?

To excel in Online Labeling, you need strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to accurately categorize or tag data according to set guidelines, usually supported by a high school diploma and basic computer literacy. Familiarity with specialized annotation platforms, data labeling software, or quality control systems is often required, though formal certifications are less common. Strong time management, focus, and effective communication skills help individuals deliver consistent, high-quality results and collaborate with remote teams or supervisors. These abilities are crucial to ensure data accuracy, which directly impacts the effectiveness of machine learning models and overall project outcomes.

Job description

Overview

Marketing Statement: Tokio Marine North America Services (TMNAS) provides professional support services to Tokio Marine Group companies in the United States, including Tokio Marine America, First Insurance Company of Hawaii, and Philadelphia Insurance Companies. Our focus is customer service, delivering actuarial, audit, corporate communications, financial and investment, human capital services, information technology, legal, and payroll expertise to our customers. Role Summary: The Senior SharePoint Online (SPO) Platform Engineer is a high-impact individual contributor responsible for the tactical operation, governance, and optimization of the enterprise SharePoint Online Platform. This role serves as the functional and technical authority for SPO, defining platform standards, modernizing templates and capabilities, ensuring secure and compliant collaboration, and aligning SPO to enterprise identity and lifecycle practices. A core responsibility is leading and guiding the offshore managed services team to ensure high-quality, consistent execution of SPO operations, projects, governance processes, and support activities.

Responsibilities
  • Platform Ownership & Architecture – Serve as the principal internal SME for SharePoint Online, overseeing platform roadmap execution, capability evaluation, and alignment with the infrastructure team supporting the broader MS 365 Suite. Define and maintain enterprise information architecture, site taxonomy, metadata standards, and template design. Ensure SPO integrates effectively with Entra ID, Workday, SailPoint, and identity-driven lifecycle processes to support secure access and collaboration. Partner with Enterprise Architecture to align SPO capabilities with broader digital workplace and information lifecycle strategies.
  • Governance, Operations & Managed Services – Establish and enforce SPO governance standards, including permissions models, sensitivity labels, retention policies, external sharing rules, and compliance requirements. Lead and coordinate the offshore managed services team supporting day-to-day SPO operations, provisioning, requests, troubleshooting, and incident management. Provide guidance, prioritization, and escalation support to ensure service quality and SLA performance from offshore support. Maintain operational runbooks, intake workflows, and escalation procedures to drive consistency and control across the platform. Collaborate with vendor management teams to assess performance, compliance, and continuous improvement opportunities. Monitor platform health, usage, capacity, and performance, proactively identifying issues or risks.
  • Modernization & Automation – Lead modernization initiatives, including Classic to Modern site migrations, template upgrades, and adoption of new SPO/M365 capabilities. Use Power Automate to build and maintain workflows supporting SPO operations (e.g., approvals, provisioning automation, metadata updates, notifications, and lifecycle processes). Develop automation scripts using PnP PowerShell, Graph API, or Power Automate to streamline provisioning, enforce governance, and reduce manual effort.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with infrastructure, enterprise architecture, security, and other teams to ensure SPO configurations, policies, capacity planning, and roadmap changes align with enterprise standards. Collaborate with Corporate Communications on site design standards and content distribution strategies. Engage business site owners to improve usability, structure, functionality, and alignment to enterprise conventions.
  • Risk Management & Compliance – Ensure compliance with audit, legal, data retention and security policies across SPO. Maintain permissions hygiene and enforce data governance standards. Address identity drift, site sprawl, nonstandard provisioning, and unmanaged external sharing. Maintain documentation and governance artifacts to support audit readiness.
  • User Enablement & Knowledge Management – Develop training, guidance, documentation, and communication materials to support site owners, business units, and offshore teams. Support change management efforts related to governance updates, template changes, and new feature rollouts.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience supporting and administering SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint On-Premises
  • Deep knowledge of SPO administration, permissions, site architecture, lists/libraries, SPFx, and Microsoft 365 capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or leading offshore managed services or vendor-led supports
  • Strong understanding of enterprise governance, metadata, taxonomy, and information lifecycle management
  • Proficiency with Power Automate and PowerShell (PnP) for building workflows and platform automation
  • Strong understanding of Entra ID, ADFS, and identity-driven access models
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading large-scale SPO migrations or modernization initiatives
  • Familiarity with Workday and SailPoint identity integrations
