Job Description:

The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for, but not limited to, preparation and instruction of classroom using multiple teaching methods to include technology, and to assist in evaluating student achievement of learning outcomes relating to a variety of hospitality management courses with emphasis on Hotel and Tourism Management. Immediate needs include online faculty to teach students are Hospitality Accounting Applications and Hospitality Management Concepts.

  • Duties the incumbent must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, include the following:
  • Provides instruction in hospitality management and tourism curriculum courses in an online format.
  • Prepares syllabi reflecting course objectives;
  • Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts
  • Evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations
  • Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlines
  • Demonstrates and facilitates diversity awareness and sensitivity;
  • Adheres to College and departmental policies, standards and procedures;
  • Maintains good communication with department chair, colleagues, clients and students.

Minimum Requirements:
  • A.A.S. in Hospitality Management from a regionally accredited institution plus three years documented hospitality work experience or BA/BS in Hospitality Management or Related field, from a regionally accredited institution, plus one year documented hospitality work experience;
  • Computer skills including MS Office and current learning management system;
  • Ability to exhibit a positive attitude toward students, the teaching process and serve as a role model of the hospitality profession.
