Adjunct Faculty (Online) - Department of Psychology

Rowan University invites applications for adjunct teaching positions leading online course offerings. The majority of our online courses in Psychology serve our undergraduate population. If you are interested in and available for teaching in person, please see our ad recruiting for in person instructors for additional application details.

The applicants must be committed to excellence in the online teaching of psychology. The Psychology Department offers a range of graduate and undergraduate programs including a BA in Psychology (with online and in-person degree opportunities), a BS in Psychological Science, and a minor in Psychology. The Psychology Department also offers MA degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis, a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, and is launching a graduate program in Human Factors. In addition to these, we offer several certificate programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. You can find a full list of our current programs on our website.  

Interested individuals must have at least a master's degree.

The Psychology Department will accept applications throughout the year. When a teaching vacancy arises, we will consider the submitted applications in an effort to staff the course.

  2. Graduate transcripts

  3. A cover letter or letter of interest. The letter should include the following information:

    1. the type of courses the applicant is interested in teaching and qualified to teach online;

    2. your preferred campus(es) and general availability for teaching;

    3. detailed information about previous teaching experience and qualifications in teaching college courses online, and

    4. the names and the contact information of three references in case additional information is required.

If the applicant wishes to submit any other supporting documents (e.g., previous student evaluations or colleague observations), they may submit them online in conjunction with the application.

Please note: candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor a visa for this position.

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $1,975 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as-needed basis.
