General Description/Position Purpose
The ACEJMC accredited department of Communication, Journalism & Media is seeking candidates for adjunct instructors in audio and video production for Spring 2026. We are a professionally focused faculty seeking an engaged colleague in media production (radio, television & video). We are a small school with an active, student-centered faculty and seek candidates with recent and relevant professional experience in television, radio and/or video production, producing, podcasting, film.
The department is building a pool of qualified adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses in:
- Video production (pre- to post-production)
- Audio production and sound design
- Digital editing and storytelling
- Studio and field production
- Podcasting and broadcast production
Who We're Looking For:
Professionals with real-world experience in any of the following:
- Film, TV, radio, podcasting, independent media, news, or corporate production
- Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, Audition, After Effects), Pro Tools, Final Cut, etc.
- Studio or field work, audio engineering, directing, cinematography, media storytelling
Teaching experience is welcome but not required-we value practical expertise, mentorship mindset, and enthusiasm for helping students learn.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of progressive experience
- Experience with video and audio editing (Adobe Creative Cloud)
- Strong portfolio or professional credits in relevant fields
- Ability to teach in-person, hybrid, or online depending on departmental needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in mass communication-related program
- Active professional involvement in BEA, AEJMC or other communication/journalism organizations.
