Job description

onsemi is seeking a Senior Director, Product Marketing to lead product strategy, roadmap definition, market positioning, and go-to-market execution for the Automotive Sensing Division (ASD) within the Intelligent Sensing Group (ISG). ASD develops advanced image sensing solutions for automotive safety, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), in-cabin sensing, intelligent vision, and next-generation mobility applications.

This is a senior leadership role for a technically credible product marketing leader who can connect market needs, customer requirements, product roadmaps, engineering execution, and business outcomes. The leader will be expected to strengthen ASD's product strategy, sharpen portfolio priorities, improve customer and sales alignment, and drive disciplined market execution in a highly competitive automotive semiconductor market.

Position Summary

The Senior Director, Product Marketing will own ASD product marketing strategy and execution. This includes product line strategy, roadmap direction, market segmentation, competitive positioning, go-to-market planning, pricing guidance, sales enablement, launch readiness, and customer-facing product messaging.

The role requires strong semiconductor product experience, automotive market understanding, technical depth in image sensing or related sensing technologies, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams across product definition, engineering, applications, sales, operations, quality, finance, and corporate marketing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Marketing, Business, or a related technical or commercial field.
  • 12+ years of experience in semiconductor product marketing, product management, business management, technical marketing, or related product leadership roles.
  • Experience with automotive semiconductors, image sensing, sensing systems, ADAS, intelligent vision, or related technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience defining product strategy, product roadmaps, market positioning, go-to-market plans, and customer-facing product messaging.
  • Strong understanding of automotive OEM and Tier 1 customer needs, semiconductor design-in cycles, qualification expectations, application requirements, and market dynamics.
  • Ability to work effectively across product definition, engineering, applications, sales, operations, quality, finance, and executive stakeholders in a matrixed global environment.
  • Strong analytical capability to evaluate markets, customers, competition, revenue, margin, design-win performance, and product line health.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills, with the ability to present clearly to customers, sales teams, engineering teams, and senior executives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience managing product marketing, product management, or business management teams.
  • Direct experience with CMOS image sensors, automotive camera systems, in-cabin sensing, exterior sensing, functional safety, or related automotive sensing applications.
  • Track record of supporting successful semiconductor product launches, design-ins, design-wins, and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience building sales enablement material, technical collateral, competitive positioning, and customer presentation content for complex technical products.
  • Ability to balance long-term roadmap strategy with near-term revenue, customer, cost, margin, and execution priorities.

Travel

Travel is expected to be approximately 25%. Occasional domestic and international travel to customer sites, ecosystem partners, industry events, and onsemi locations may be required. 

onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $209,645.00 to $377,775.00 Range exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ASD product marketing strategy, including product line direction, portfolio priorities, roadmap inputs, market segmentation, customer targeting, and business growth plans.
  • Define and maintain automotive sensing product roadmaps in partnership with product definition, engineering, applications, sales, and business leadership.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new products, product family refreshes, and strategic customer engagements, including positioning, launch priorities, sales enablement, and design-win support.
  • Translate customer, OEM, Tier 1, ecosystem, and market requirements into clear product, feature, performance, cost, schedule, and business priorities.
  • Assess market trends, competitive positioning, customer adoption, design-in activity, revenue potential, margin impact, and product lifecycle performance to guide portfolio decisions.
  • Provide pricing guidance, commercial positioning, delivery condition input, and customer engagement recommendations aligned with ASD business objectives.
  • Partner with sales and field teams to support strategic customer engagements, application fit assessments, customer presentations, roadmap discussions, and design-win execution.
  • Lead product launch readiness across product marketing, sales, applications, corporate marketing, communications, operations, and customer-facing teams.
  • Drive creation of product collateral, technical product briefs, application notes, sales tools, launch content, training material, customer-facing messaging, and competitive positioning material.
  • Train and update sales, distribution, and customer-facing teams on ASD product strategy, product roadmaps, positioning, differentiation, and target applications.
  • Support the annual business planning process by providing market data, portfolio analysis, customer input, roadmap recommendations, investment priorities, and product line growth assumptions.
  • Identify enabling technologies, intellectual property, partnerships, ecosystem capabilities, or roadmap gaps that could improve ASD competitiveness in automotive sensing, ADAS, and intelligent vision markets.
  • Build strong working relationships with strategic automotive OEMs, Tier 1s, ecosystem partners, and internal stakeholders to improve customer intimacy and roadmap relevance.
  • Establish a clear operating cadence for product marketing reviews, roadmap alignment, launch planning, competitive reviews, and customer engagement priorities.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor product marketing talent, building a stronger product marketing function with clear ownership, business discipline, and customer focus.
