What is a Postdoctoral Extracellular Vesicles job?

A Postdoctoral Extracellular Vesicles job is a specialized research position focused on studying extracellular vesicles (EVs), which are small membrane-bound particles released by cells. Researchers in this role investigate EV biology, their roles in cell communication, and their potential applications in diagnostics and therapeutics. The position typically involves designing experiments, analyzing EV composition and function, and publishing findings in scientific journals. Candidates usually hold a Ph.D. in a related field, such as biology, biochemistry, or biomedical sciences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Postdoctoral Extracellular Vesicles position, and why are they important?

To excel as a Postdoctoral Extracellular Vesicles researcher, you need a PhD in a relevant life science field, experience with EV isolation/characterization, and a strong background in molecular and cellular biology. Technical proficiency with nanoparticle tracking analysis, flow cytometry, electron microscopy, and advanced proteomics or RNA sequencing platforms is highly valuable. Excellent problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and project advancement. These skills help drive innovative research, ensure reliable results, and enable successful integration within multidisciplinary research teams.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a Postdoctoral Extracellular Vesicles researcher?

As a Postdoctoral Extracellular Vesicles researcher, your daily tasks may include designing and conducting experiments related to EV isolation, characterization, and functional analysis. You will often work closely with other scientists, present findings in lab meetings, and collaborate on manuscript and grant writing. Analyzing and interpreting complex datasets, maintaining detailed lab records, and troubleshooting technical challenges are also key components of the role. This hands-on, collaborative environment offers opportunities for methodological innovation and contributing to high-impact publications in the field.

Job description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ph. D. , M.D. or Doctoral equivalent in any field. Scientific research experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position and is not expected to be a permanent position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct experiments to determine exosomes as mediators of biological clock functions during pregnancy and engineer exosomes for targeted delivery of exosome based drugs. The candidate will develop new approaches to study exosome function, exosome as a drug delivery vehicle, or exosome cargo as a drug, and conduct cell and molecular biology approaches. Besides, exosomes impact on feto-maternal units will be studied using intrauterine organ on chip devices or organoids.
In addition, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be involved in cell biology work, cell line preparation from human placental tissues and conducting molecular biological experiments using these cells to understand the feto-maternal communication during pregnancy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD degree with a research background in extracellular vesicles is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD with 1 year of experience in cell and extracellular vesicle biology approaches. Knowledge of organ on a chip and organoids are preferred.

SALARY:
Commensurate with experience
