Anthropology Program Mission Statement:
In taking as its broad scope the totality of human qualities and experience, the anthropology major at William Peace University seeks to promote in students a better understanding of and appreciation for human diversity, to develop a global awareness and conscience, and, as a result of its inherently interdisciplinary nature, to help students integrate their knowledge in the natural and social sciences, and the humanities. Anthropology's emphasis on experiential, field-based learning will provide rich opportunities for student engagement, discovery, and adventure, and, thus, not only challenge students to become lifelong learners and pursue meaningful careers, but also to lead and serve others.
Criminal Justice, Political Science, and Pre-Law Program Misson Statement:
Challenging students to an adventure of intellectual understanding in the areas of criminal justice and the law for the purpose of developing responsible leaders and ethical citizens. This major aims to develop within students the critical and analytical skills to study criminal justice and the law and to be able to articulate information regarding criminal justice and law.
Global Studies Program Misson Statement:
The Global Studies Program engages students in the interdisciplinary study of the world so that they can find meaningful careers in a global environment, and can become more ethical global citizens and leaders.
Summary of Position:
William Peace University is continuously seeking qualified scholars for adjunct faculty positions in the Department of Culture, History & Politics who have demonstrated commitment to the promotion of interdisciplinary work, teaching excellence, diversity, and possess a collaborative leadership style. The successful candidates should have knowledge of and experience in their selected teaching discipline, as well as experience with and the ability to use instructional technologies to support classroom activities.

โ€ข History and American Studies
โ€ข Political Science
โ€ข Global Studies
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are reviewed as vacancies arise within the department.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Teaching assignments would include lecture and laboratory instruction in courses for the Department of Culture, History & Politics. Assignments may include classroom courses, online distance-education courses, or both. Depending on the department's needs, selected candidates will be offered contracts to teach one or more course-sections for semester.
Minimum Qualifications:
โ€ข A Master's degree in the teaching discipline, or a Master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in discipline)
โ€ข A demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching
โ€ข Related work experiences in the field, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, continuous documented excellence in teaching, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes may be used to supplement academic credentials if warranted
โ€ข Established record of teaching excellence and demonstrated leadership experience.
โ€ข A minimum of two years of work experience required

โ€ข Ph.D. in the teaching discipline
โ€ข 1-2 years teaching experience at the undergraduate level
