About the Role

Team 360 Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented SW Drafting Technician to support marina and dock construction projects for one of our clients. This role is responsible for preparing clear and accurate plans, detail drawings, and project documentation based on sketches, notes, contract changes, and bid specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting and administrative skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment. Dependability and professionalism are essential, as candidates must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening and participate in random drug testing per company policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates construction and fabrication (drawings in accordance with company standards and design engineer's directions and specifications).
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
  • Makes any adjustments or changes necessary or desired.
  • Prepares flotation calculations for each float module in a dock system.
  • Creates fabrication details using the flotation calculations to ensure that each float module will attain the designed freeboard.
  • Compiles and maintains both paper and data files on all projects for a historical record of all drawings completed.
  • Consults with and assists departments in determining needs and developing specifications for goods and services.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with vendors and negotiates with them to obtain best and most cost-effective goods and services for BMI.
  • Demonstrates and applies safety rules and techniques.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

  • Education and/or experience: Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-Year College or technical school; 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Computer skills: Fully trained in the use of AutoCad, and experience in 3D Drafting with software such as Solidworks or Autocad Inventor. Minimum five years' experience working in a network environment. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Windows-, and E-mail software. Solidworks experience preferred.
