As an online communications instructor, you teach students the skills they need to work in fields like marketing, journalism, and public relations. You might work for a college or trade school that offers degree and certificate programs over the internet. In this role, you lead a virtual class in much the same way as you would a traditional one, except that you provide lessons and communicate with students via your institution’s learning management system or LMS. As a remote instructor, your duties include creating the course syllabus and lesson plans, offering lectures and reading assignments, and providing quizzes and tests to assess student progress.
